STUCK ON THE N TRAIN

               (this was written while I was stuck on the N train)

               INT. SUBWAY

               A train sits stuck between 49th St. and Times Square.

                                   KEVIN
                         Does anyone mind if I use this time
                         to write a sketch?

                                   GUY ACROSS FROM KEVIN
                         Am I going to be a character in
                         your sketch?

                                   KEVIN
                         Only of you do or say something
                         interesting.

                                   GUY ACROSS FROM KEVIN
                         Ok. So imnthe sketch because I
                         responded to your question?

                                   KEVIN
                         Yes

                                   GIRL NEXT TO KEVIN
                         I'd rather not be in the sketch.

                                   KEVIN
                         What if I don't use you're name?

                                   GIRL NEXT TO KEVIN
                         An my name by Tricia?

                                   KEVIN
                         Sure

                                   TRICIA
                         Fun!

                                   GUY ACROSS FROM KEVIN
                         What's my name?

                                   KEVIN
                         I'd probably just call you 'guy
                         across from Kevin'

                                   GUY ACROSS FROM KEVIN
                         Are you Kevin?

                                   KEVIN
                         Yes

                                   TRICIA
                         I think your name should be Sky,
                         not Kevin

                                   SKY
                         But my name is Kevin.

                                   TRICIA
                         And the guy across from you should
                         be an elderly knight.

               The Knight shifted in his subway seat.

                                   SKY
                         Why would there be a knight on a
                         subway?

                                   TRICIA
                         Subways are boring. We should be on
                         a dragon.

               The dragon began moving again.

                                   SKY
                         I guess I can...

                                   TRICIA
                         I'd be a princess.

                                   SKY
                         Sure ok...

                                   TRICIA
                         But a princess with a sword.

                                   KNIGHT ACROSS FROM SKY
                         This sketch doesn't sound funny.

                                   SKY
                         That's not fair. All you've heard
                         are characters. I might think of a
                         funny situation to put them in.

                                   DRAGON (O.S.)
                         Ladies and Gentlemen we are delayed
                         due to dragon traffic ahead of us.
                         We apologize for any inconvenience.

                                   KNIGHT ACROSS FROM SKY
                         You don't seem funny.

                                   TRICIA
                         It shouldn't be funny. It should be
                         exciting.

               Tricia drew he sword to fend off the attacking Giant Bats.

                                   SKY
                         I'm more into funny sketches.

                                   KNIGHT ACROSS FROM SKY
                         I doubt it.

               The Knight checked his watch.

                                   KNIGHT ACROSS FROM SKY (CONT'D)
                         I'm going to be late.

                                   TRICIA
                         Ooh. What if the Princess fell in
                         love with her enemy? That'd be
                         great.

               The princess and the Giant Bat met eyes.

                                   SKY
                         Like Romeo and Juliet?

                                   TRICIA
                         Oh right. It's been done. Never
                         mind.

                                   SKY
                         Maybe she could fall in love with
                         Sky?

                                   TRICIA
                         Who's Sky?

                                   FORGOTTEN MAN
                         I am.

                                   TRICIA
                         Uh. No.

               Tricia, and the Knight looked away from the forgotten man.

               The forgotten man pulled out his iPhone and began writing a
               sketch.
