ADAM GRIST
To add some freshness to the latest
Jake Dagger adventure I decided to
let the actor's ad-lib their lines
during the climactic battle. Having
played the roles for so long, I
felt no writer could know the
characters as well as these actors.
By not scripting it, the actor's
could be in the moment, and really
speak to the character emotions. I
feel it really added another level
of realism to the movie.

EXT. SKY
A CARGO plane is nose diving towards the ocean that can be
seen far below.
TEXT: SCENE from JAKE DAGGER AND THE FLYING BOMBS (1962)
CUT TO:
INT. COCKPIT OF A CARGO PLANE
Our hero, JAKE DAGGER, is pushing the flight stick forward
causing the plane to rush towards the ocean. With his right
arm he is holding off the villainous stooge, THE MAMMOTH, a
large imposing Russian. But The Mammoth is starting to tire
Dagger out.
JAKE DAGGER
You're going to lose you big loser.
THE MAMMOTH
I am supposed to make the bomb on
this plane blow up the important
place.
JAKE DAGGER
No. I want it to blow up in another
place where nothing bad will
happen. The ocean place is where I
am talking about!
Dagger lets go of the flight stick and punches The Mammoth in
the face. The Mammoth is unfazed.
THE MAMMOTH
That didn't hurt. That is why I
didn't move.
JAKE DAGGER
But it was supposed to hurt! That
is what punching does!
The Mammoth puts his huge hand on Dagger's throat and tosses
him back out of the seat. The Mammoth starts to level the
plane off.
JAKE DAGGER (CONT'D)
Ow! You are a strong bad guy.
THE MAMMOTH
I am the strongest bad guy. Now I
will kill you for being a good guy.
The Mammoth turns to face the crumpled over Dagger.
Dagger shakes off the pain and stands drawing his trademark
silver dagger. He leaps.
JAKE DAGGER
Time to get stabby!
The Mammoth smacks Dagger with the back of his hand, and the
silver dagger goes flying.
THE MAMMOTH
I am faster than you at things.
Things like fighting.
JAKE DAGGER
Not fair! You are faster and
stronger. I wanted this fight to be
easy for me. Instead it seems easy
for you. VERY easy.
The Mammoth grabs a metal bar welded to the side of the
cockpit and rips it off the wall.
THE MAMMOTH
This is another example of how
strong I am.
JAKE DAGGER
Holy Crow! That is a good example
of what you are talking about.
The Mammoth hits Dagger in the back of his head with the
metal bar and Dagger goes down but thanks to his heroic
constitution, he is not out.
THE MAMMOTH
Why didn't you die? I hit you very
hard.
JAKE DAGGER
I care too much. If that is the
sort of thing that makes you not
die.
THE MAMMOTH
Caring shouldn't help you not die.
JAKE DAGGER
I guess you're right. I don't know
why I didn't die.
THE MAMMOTH
This time you will go bye-bye.
The Mammoth begins to swing the metal bar again.
JAKE DAGGER
Not if I hurt you a lot.
Dagger kicks the Mammoth in his knee. The Mammoth drops the
bar
THE MAMMOTH
That did hurt a lot.
JAKE DAGGER
Yay!
Dagger uppercuts The Mammoth over and over again to no
effect.
JAKE DAGGER (CONT'D)
I already tried punching you, but I
am doing it again.
THE MAMMOTH
My face is very hard I guess.
The Mammoth boxes Dagger's ears. Dagger grabs his head and
crouches.
JAKE DAGGER
Ow again!
THE MAMMOTH
Now to do something to kill you.
Staying in the crouch, Dagger slams into Mammoth's gut
knocking the behemoth backwards into the flight stick. The
plane begins to nose dive again.
JAKE DAGGER
Pretty surprising right?
THE MAMMOTH
I am surprised! I will have to fix
the plane flying thing.
The Mammoth stands up to see the flight stick has been broken
off. He can't right the plane again.
THE MAMMOTH (CONT'D)
Oh no! It's gone to breaky town!
The Mammoth turns to see Dagger wearing a parachute. Dagger
salutes the Mammoth as the plane rocks around.
JAKE DAGGER
Now is when I leave. Fast like!
Dagger's silver dagger slides across the floor right up to
Dagger's foot. He stops he silver dagger by placing his foot
on the blade.
JAKE DAGGER (CONT'D)
Oh right. This is my thing.
Jake Dagger reaches down, picks up his silver dagger and
sheaths it.
JAKE DAGGER (CONT'D)
NOW is when I leave. Fast like!
Jake Dagger turns and steps out of the cockpit.
THE MAMMOTH
I should leave too!
The Mammoth opens the parachute closet only to find it empty.
THE MAMMOTH (CONT'D)
Oh sucky!
CUT TO:
EXT. SKY
The Jake Dagger leaps out of the plane and pulls his ripcord
as the Cargo Plane plummets into the ocean.
JAKE DAGGER
That worked!
The Plane hits the ocean and explodes.
"BLACK OUT!"
