Epilogue to the Epilogue
As Wookie prepared to leave the room there was a bright flash of light. Had
he been detected after all? It seemed impossible. As the light faded there
stood a stout man, with a grey beard and a brilliant battle-axe. Wookie
pondered, " Could it be? " . The man looked around and seemed
disappointed.
He scratched his beard, and pulled out a piece of worn parchment. After
glancing at it for a few moments, he placed it back his pack, and gave a
sigh. Wookie stepped into view, " Tarkin?...is that you? " Tarkin did
not
seem shocked at the sudden appearance of Wookie, but then people appearing
from nowhere had become a common occurrence to the former leader of the
Druid Protectors.
"Wookie? Nice to see you again. Let me ask you a question. Did I just miss
a
meeting of the Guildmasters? " Tarkin pulled out his parchment once again.
" Yes. How did you..."
"Ah...I see. Never mind. Wrong meeting. There is another meeting in two
months where the event will be recorded in a tapestry. Thats the one I want.
"
Then it dawned on Wookie. " You mean you finished..."
"Yes. About 15 years after I last saw you in fact. Recently I have been
placing myself in tapestries throughout history. Mostly in the background.
"
" What? Why? "
" Well at first I was just doing it to events depicted in tapestries in
Castle Barovia. It was fun to see Galen's face as he would notice my face in
a tapestry. 'That wasn't there before!!! How did? What in' "
" That is a terrible Galen impersonation "
Tarkin shrugged, " anyway, after I got in all those, I decided to do it to
a
future ancestor of Galen's too. Once I am in all his tapestries I will show
up at the door and act like I am royalty and give him a hard time. Don't
know if it will be as much fun as with Galen himself but I got time. "
" That is one thing you have plenty of..."
" Well, I'll be seeing you around I expect." Wookie smiled as Tarkin
made an
incantation and lifted his Battle Axe of Time Travel (tm) aloft before
leaving a light as bright as the one that brought him.
