This is posted at Fresh & Co, a decent but overpriced eatery near the UCB Training Center where I spend too much of my time. It says “1/3 of the waste in the U.S. comes from unused napkins and straws and takes up to 900 years for plastic utensils to decompose.”

They are missing an “it”, right?  Wouldn’t it read better if it said “and It takes up to…”

And it probably should be two sentences, right? I mean after the and it’s about a completely new subject.

This bugs me a lot. It’s posted on their napkin dispensers, and instead of worrying about taking too many napkins I find myself thinking about grammar and typos.

Even worse, in a saving the world sense, they have a garbage can that is marked “for recyclables only”. Unfortunately there are two openings for that garbage can., and the other one is unlabeled, so it’s always full of non recyclables. It’s a pretty poorly designed garbage can.

The poor sentence structure bugs me more.
