Whenever I see this ad I read it as $5 hand foot long. I realize the hand is there simply to show me how many 5 is, but it’s right above the word foot so I think I just immediately associate them together.
I suppose if it was a picture of a foot I’d have no such issue. Of course a bare foot symbolizes stinky. So I might assume the footlong subs smelled bad.
I guess I’d remove the hand altogether. It’s not helping the sale as much as the relatively low price.
And now I’ve officially given this subway in-store poster too much thought.
