I feel like I am 11

I haven’t watched a full NBA basketball game on TV in over 15 years. But I have watched two in the last week.

Last night the Boston Celtics came back from a 24 point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Lakers. They now lead the best of 7 series, 3 to 1. I haven’t been this excited watching the Celtics since Larry Bird stole an inbound pass from the Pistons to take a lead with 1 second on the clock in 1987.

To be honest, I am kind of annoyed by all the “instant” Celtics fans that seem to have popped up this year. Like people who have no idea who Reggie Lewis is. I’m just sayin’…

It happens everywhere. Take it from a guy who lives in Connecticut. The amount of Patriot fans that have shown up over the past few years is pretty sickening. It makes me feel bad for the long-time fans who stuck out the awful, awful years.

I’m psyched the Celtics won but mainly because I’m a huge Ray Allen fan, and I’ve always liked watching Garnett play.

While I don’t doubt what you guys are saying, I haven’t actually ran into any ‘new’ Celtics fans. I have run into a lot of people rooting for the Celtics, but I have no issue with that. You have to pick a horse when watching a race.

Also, I suppose when I first started rooting for the Celtics, I was jumping on the bandwagon… they had just won the Championship! So if folks are jumping on the bandwagon, well I don’t mind, as long as they decided to stay on it.

Brian – every time Pierce was awesome (often) I remembered talking to you about him when he got drafted.
