Craig’s Long Hot Sunday

Sunday we filmed episode 2 of Craig’s Next Great American Wish (Episode 1 is on my Films page). We spent 8 hours. Train problems kept us from filming on Friday. And work took our lead away so we couldn’t film today. And last weekend two of the cast were out of town. So we didn’t have much choice.

I think we have crafted a much clearer episode then we did last time, so I hope it comes across funnier. By the end of the day we were all just sitting near an air condition moaning “What else do we need to shoot?” The final shot of the day was meant to be out in Times Square – but unfortunately we didn’t have time and the sun was setting – so we settled for Astoria’s version of Times Square where Steinway St crosses Broadway. Right near the Chase bank. Not a lot of people were out, but we worked with what we had.

By the time I got home I felt as if I had just spent 8 hours bickering with Dave over every bit of minutia involved in the show. Is that what collaboration feels like?

One more scene to shoot (scheduled for Wednesday) and then we turn it in Sunday. Come out to Channel 102 to see it!
